Psychotherapy and Counselling with Jo

“I can affect change by transforming the only thing that I ever had any control over in the first place and that is myself.”

Deepak Chopra

"Jo helped me to challenge some of my thoughts and face some of my emotions to get me into a position to consider my options for the future. Jo has great capacity to listen deeply and reflect and ask all the right questions. I would definitely recommend Jo.”

Jo Christa Taylor

I have been interested in people my whole life. How we behave, how we struggle and how we have come to live our lives in ways that are often not conducive to being happy and well. In all the work I do, whether it be yoga, mindfulness or therapy, I am motivated to help relieve suffering and facilitate change.

I am a Psychodynamically trained Counsellor and Psychotherapist as well as a Mindfulness (MBCT) teacher, You can see me face to face or online for counselling, psychotherapy and mindfulness.

My special interest is in developmental trauma and c-ptsd and I use Internal Family Systems as well as NARM (neuro-affective relational model) when working with people who have experienced developmental trauma.

If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, anxiety, depression or have suffered a bereavement then get in touch to arrange to take advantage of a free 15-minute consultation with me.

What I offer

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. It takes practice though (meditation) as we do not tend to live our lives in ways that support this ability.

Psychodynamic Counselling

Is a form of counselling that enables you to understand the way you relate to people, to the world, and to yourself, Sometimes this means going back to the beginning (childhood) to find out where it all began and/or working with your unconscious beliefs and processes. It is a long term approach that aims to bring about lasting change rather than offer a quick-fix.
